Tools for degree progress and tracking aim to provide the information and resources needed for students to register for the right courses at the right time, and stay on track towards degree completion. However, research-to-date indicates that they fall short of meeting the needs of Black, Latinx, Indigenous and low-income (BLI/LI) students.

We conducted a year-long research study funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to examine why this might be the case and provide recommendations for future solutions.
